How to support us

The RNLI is a registered charity in both the Republic of Ireland and Britain. It is not a government funded organisation apart from an annual grant of €175,000 and otherwise relies entirely on the generosity of individuals to make financial donations or show their support in other ways.

How to support us

  • Give money

    • Make a donation
You can donate via the main RNLI website here
    • Leaving a gift in your Will
The work of our lifeboat crews - along with the provision of the best possible boats, equipment and training to ensure their safety - relies entirely upon the generosity of kind supporters like you. An astonishing six out of ten lifeboat launches are only made possible because of legacy gifts, so this is a vital source of income to the RNLI.

Desktop pager

Desktop Virtual Pager

You can receive alerts directly to your own PC desktop whenever the lifeboat launches on a rescue. The RNLI has a unique 'Virtual Pager' that will tell you whenever a station's crew has received a call on their own paging system.

For operational reasons, there is a delay of several minutes between the the real pager alert and the Virtual Pager going off. We also ask you not to go to the station while an operation is in progress. Click here for more details.
