Request from Dublin C/G to go to the aid of a yacht which was involed in a collision with another
yacht in Dublin Bay. The Dublin Bay cruise ferry "St Bridget" was standing by one yacht with one
pob when lifeboat arrived. A crew member was put onboard  the casualty to assist in cutting away
his mast. The casualty was then escorted back to yacht club .

their capsized dinghty. ILB stood down on route as casualties made own way to safety of shore

Yacht with jammed rudder, assisted. Crewman boarded and  freed rudder and
ALB escorted back to Dun Laoghaire

 

Cruise ship MEDIVAC No. 47/2013

Medivac of an 85 yr old female suffering abdominal pain from cruise ship to an awaiting
ambulance at lifeboat station. Patient was accompanied by her son. HMA attended throughout but no
medical assistance proved necessary.

Request from Dublin C/G to go to the assistance of a 20ft boat which had run out of petrol in
Scotsmans bay. Vessel located and towed to the coal harbour Dun laoghaire.

Swamped dory No. 44/2013

Small dory with six onboard capsized whilst on fishing expedition on Dublin Bay. Alarm raised by
mobile phone to CG who had difficulty verifying location . Howth launched
their ILB and Dun L sent ALB. CG Rescue 116 was also tasked. Capsized boat with six clinging to it
were spotted by an incoming cargo vessel and location relayed to lifeboats. ILB transferred
persons all of whom suffered from hypothermia to the ALB and therafter to awaiting ambulances at
Dun L. Dory recovered by Howth ILB and towed to Dun L.
