Operation Transformation at RNLI Dun Laoghaire
Operation Transformation Team-leader Kayleigh Yeoman signed-up as an RNLI crew-member recently and was put through her paces by Coxswain Mark McGibney and the ALB crew at Dun Laoghaire. Under instruction from RNLI Divisional Assessor Trainer Helena Duggan, the TV contesetant handled a man-overboard recovery drill using Fred, the Station Dummy and followed this by single-handlededly pumping up the XP 'daughter' boat in less than six minutes - very impressive. Presenter Kathryn Thomas was on hand to welcome her ashore after the exercise with the RNLI that was a long-standing ambition fulfilled.
Kayleigh (centre) is pictured above with 'Fred" and Station Mechanic Kieran O'Connell along with the crew and production team.

You can receive alerts directly to your own PC desktop whenever the lifeboat launches on a rescue. The RNLI has a unique 'Virtual Pager' that will tell you whenever a station's crew has received a call on their own paging system.
For operational reasons, there is a delay of several minutes between the the real pager alert and the Virtual Pager going off. We also ask you not to go to the station while an operation is in progress. Click here for more details.
